I’m sure most people would say the exploration in Breath of the Wild or turning into a mug in Prey, or something else is the best experience they’ve had in 2017, but for me, switching between ultra stealthy infiltration missions to crazy helicopter rides to aimless driving is the most fun I’ve had this year because those experiences are shared.
With a friend, who understands. If we’re having a difficult time in a mission, we’ll do it again, together.
Whereas if I were to play by myself, I’d probably not return back to the game. When you’re depressed or feeling low, having others around may not solve the problem, but it can be incredibly helpful https://loganomotorsports.com/.
So in conclusion Yes, I do believe that games and gaming can help people who are depressed, anxious, or suffering from mental illness.
There’s a wide spectrum of ailments that people deal with on a daily basis ranging from the mild to the extremely severe. In the modern western world, we have a lot of realities that we’re going to be facing and none of them are easy.
However games aren't the Be-all and end-all solution. It takes time, patience, awareness and a will to learn and accept these things. Life isn’t easy and sometimes, you’re going to need help. You should remember that you need to be kind to yourself, to take care of yourself.
There will be times in life when everything feels horrible. You’ll feel like giving up, not caring and just letting the world pass you by.
You won’t know what you’re doing and where you’re going or how to get there. But, to quote the internet: "One thing in life you can learn from video games, if there's an obstacle in front of you, you're going in the right direction." Thanks for watching. I hope you enjoyed the video. You should take away from this video is if you're suffering from Depression and/or anxiety You need to talk to someone.
Whether it's a friend or family, someone you can trust, or maybe even a stranger I understand that talking about things like this can be tough and finding someone that you can even talk to about it, can be even harder.
If you feel like you can’t talk to anyone, then talk to me. I’m more than happy to listen.
You can send me a tweet or message on Twitter, but if you'd like to actually have a conversation with me I've set up a discord that you can join hangout in, or give me a call on when I'm off work. Are there any games that have helped you in depression?
Do you have a "sad game" that you refer yourself to?

(sniffing) Alright so I think I'm gonna take a couple of them. Kind of like break them up a little bit and add 'em in like this. It'll be kind of crunchy.
By the way, even though this may look delicious. Don't eat it, not good. You know I'm gonna take a handful and just kind of like.. (crunching) Yo my hand is like all red from Cheetos. Wait. - Please.

- Clay. Alright, I forgot how cool this stuff feels. Don't touch my clay.
- Oh, I kinda broke it. - It's just like a cloud. Oh my gosh. Next spin, next ingredient. Let's go!
Alright, let's see what I got here. I got lotion. - Lotion? - Lotion. - Huh. Oh yeah I got contact solution by the way.
- I guess I'm just gonna stick it in like this and then just in like the middle of it. - How's it goin' over there? - Oh, not good. - It looks really gross. - This is disgus... It's all slimy, slippery, and lotiony.
- [Deven] It was so much fun before. - Holy cow. It's like it, it's ruining my clay. If I get another bad ingredient.
It's just done. So I'm just gonna find some white glue and add it in. - Okay? - Eww! Man lotion makes it really hard to open things.
Devan, can you open that for me? Pour it right in that little pocket. Uh oh, uh oh. Not good, not good, not good at all. Tryin' to mix it all together.
Power time! Alright, whoa, just got, oh no, lost a giant chunk of it. Glue me up.
In the middle, yep, a lot more. - A lot more? - Yeah more. Oh, that's too much, too much.
Oh boy, well this may have just. Oh, oh this feels nice! Now the lotion, the glue, and the clay together. You have a rather interesting texture. It's time to spin the wheel again but Devan I got stuff all over my hands. - I gotchu.
- I better put a dig on yellow. - [Both] Oh so close! - I got plastic beads.
- And I got clear glue. I call this one, walkin' the plank! See you just put a little bit of clear glue on the plank. - What, that seems incredibly inefficient. - Yeah that was way cooler in my head. It was gonna be like wooo and then it didn't do it because it sucks.
That's loud. - What? That's a little more like it.
(grunting) Having some troubles there? - I got to take the top off of this thing. - It's like you sneezed glue bro. - Party time, alright clear glue. Now we've got the clear glue.
Clear glue added in. Are you taking some of it out? - Yeah I think I used too much.
- Yeah probably the best. Alright now guys, time to spin for the next ingredient. Here we go.
- [Both] Three, two, one. - You got blue. - Hey, wait, which color. Ah, different color blue. I got clear glue.
- [Collins] And I got paint. - Oh! - That's a lot of paint. Alright so I'm just gonna try to kind of gently mix it together, you know?
- [Deven] Alright. - Just enough to tint it. - [Deven] My glue is in. - Alright let's spin for the next ingredient.
I'm calling it, blue. Oh snap, I got it right! - What? - Alright let me see what I got.
Baking soda. I got baking soda. - And I got water. Really? - Alright I'm gonna add my baking soda. Oh there we go.
- You know you could have just opened it beforehand but it's okay. - Got it, bloop. Time to take another stick and mix it all together.
That looks pretty bad. Kind of like slushy. Alright let's spin again. - Did you just hit your hand? - Yeah I hurt-- - It sounded like that hurt.
- Red, let's see what I got. Contact solution. - Oh, I got blue. And I got, ooh, liquid starch. Just what I needed, yes!
- [Collins] I'm gonna do like a teaspoon at a time and see how well it's good. - This slime feels really weird. It's actually kind of working out man.
- Is it really? It doesn't look like it. - This doesn't look like it's binding to you Collins?
'Cause it does to me. - Look at this. It's literally a shlime on a shtick!
- I'm gonna try to use this to catch my bucket. You ready? (buzzer) (buzzer) (bell dinging) - How about this?
We both for the first time get to choose one ingredient to add to finish it off. So what do you want to pick Devan? - Um, food coloring.
Hey slots fans, and welcome to our dual review of both Berryburst and Berryburst MAX – released in August 2018. A lot’s been said about this new NetEnt concept of releasing two versions of the same game, with many iGamers wondering what MAX slots are and how they work. We’ll be clearing up those queries, plus many others, during this video guide, so in just a few short minutes you’ll have a better idea of which suits you best. The first point to note is that both machines play in a near-identical way. As you can see, both Berrybursts are also Cluster Pays games, meaning a minimum of five of the same symbol need to land next to each other for a winning round to be made.
Exactly how much you win still depends on slot pay tables, but that’s where differences start to appear… Here's the paytable for the standard Berryburst slot, with the full 15 Wilds valued at 5000 coins. That’s what will be paid out if the entire reels are covered by Wilds, which we’ll get to later. Take a moment to see the values before comparing them with Berryburst MAX… As you can see, the payout for the full 15 Wilds has doubled to 10,000 coins in the MAX version, while changes have been made to the regular symbols too. The RTP also differs - with 96.56% attributed to the standard slot, compared to a slightly less 96.23% for Berryburst MAX. Yet, what does all of this mean for the regular gamer Casinoslots?
In short, there is a greater chance on average of seeing more winning spins on the standard Berryburst slot, but they’ll have less potential value. This is reversed for MAX – where fewer winning spins are anticipated on average, but they’ll come with greater potential value when they do. However, a quick disclaimer before we show you the features: this data is all based on average – meaning there's no guarantee that these two formulas will follow every time you play. Now, on to the slot itself! Perhaps due to the MAX element, NetEnt have made their Berrybursts simple to understand.
Everything revolves around Wild symbols – with these beauties expanding to cover entire reels whenever they appear. As Berryburst is Cluster Pays, that can lead to big wins! You’ve probably noticed that a Re-Spin is also granted whenever a Wild symbol appears. The Wild sticks into place for this feature, meaning you’ve always got a good second chance of snagging further profits – just like we did here in MAX. If you strike lucky, your Re-Spins will contain further Wild symbols – making the reels turn again with an even greater chance of high combinations.
Of course, the same result is possible on MAX, with all gamers hoping for the entire reels to be made Wild for a huge windfall It’s not exactly a common occurrence, but it’s certainly happened before… That's all you need to know about Berryburst and Berryburst MAX. We hope our Berryburst review has made it easier for you to choose your preferred flavour, but there’s always our free-to-play demo versions on NetEntCasino.com. Little does she know, Dante is the one hiding a dangerous secret, one that has him fearing for her life.
Dead Beautiful takes a tried-and-true storyline, infuses it with a fascinating theory from an ancient philosopher, and places everything in a beautiful setting.
After reading the first few chapters, I felt that Dead Beautiful was very similar to The Body Finder: Renée constantly stumbles upon dead things, including the bodies of her parents. Thankfully, the story took an original turn, and incorporated some (made-up) philosophies of Descartes, which was probably the most interesting thing about the book. I really enjoyed reading about the “Seventh Meditation” and how it connected to the story.
Another really interesting thing about Dead Beautiful was the setting. Renee’s boarding school was possibly THE coolest boarding school I’ve ever read about (okay, it’s second to Hogwarts. I give.). All the classes she was “forced” to take sounded so fun! The school and the people that filled it were highly academic, and thus there wasn’t any real teenage drama going on (no crazy parties here!). The whole atmosphere was very dark and foreboding, which fit the story perfectly.
My only complaint about Dead Beautiful would have to be the characters. Dante, in my opinion, was really not an exciting love interest. He was just your typical dark, mysterious, moody dude. Renee was slightly more interesting, but to be perfectly honest, I didn’t find her to be all that memorable of a protagonist (thought I did admire her intelligence and resourcefulness).
Despite my complaints about the characters, I did really enjoy Dead Beautiful. The story was great—the mystery aspect was truly mysterious, and Gottfried Academy was a perfect setting.
The next book I read yesterday was Enthralled, so

Release date: September 2011
I’ve featured nearly all the stories in Enthralled in my Short Story Saturday posts for the past month or so.
My thoughts overall: A fantastic anthology! I loved a majority of these stories, and even the ones I didn’t love were still enjoyable. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the stories that related to an author’s already-established series. Otherwise, no complaints! Enthralled is a great anthology that any fan of paranormal YA will fall in love with.
Released: February 2011
Summary: Lena lives in a world in which love is considered a disease. Luckily, scientists have a cure—everyone gets it when they turn eighteen. Lena is especially looking forward to her procedure because the disease, amor deliria nervosa, runs in her family, and the last thing she wants is to turn out like her mother—dead. But when Lena meets Alex, everything changes, and she questions whether love is really as bad as it’s made out to be.
Review: I’ve heard great, great things about Delirium, so upon starting the book, my hopes were high.
For some reason, I had a tough time getting into Delirium. I found my mind wandering while reading the first quarter of the book. Delirium has a great concept, though, so I stuck with it, and ended up being quite happy that I did.
Despite my initial difficulty loving Delirium, there are things about the book that really stand out, the first of which is Lauren Oliver’s writing. Her style is absolutely magnificent, and I’d even go so far as to say that it was better in Delirium than in Before I Fall. I devoured the figurative language, the imagery, and the dialogue. Girl can write.
The next thing that really stood out to me in Delirium was the blending of contemporary themes with a dystopian concept. Delirium really gets down into the nitty-gritty of questions like, “what is love?” and “should I conform to society?” I loved that Lena, the protagonist, began with a completely provincial mindset, and through the course of the story evolved to question right and wrong. I feel like even though the world in which Delirium is set is completely different from our own, we can still make connections to the feelings of the characters.
Something that didn’t quite work for me was the relationship between Lena and Alex. I know, I’m crazy, right? I just felt like they didn’t really know each other very well, and therefore the “love” that they claimed to have seemed a bit forced. The story was very centered on their relationship, and though I enjoyed reading about their forbidden escapades, I just wish I felt a bit more real.
Overall, though, Delirium was a fantastic read. The last pages, especially, shocked me (I was openly gaping at the book as I finished it during a class). Almost everything about the story was beautiful, and I can hardly wait for the sequel! Delirium is definitely a book that you’ll want to check out.
(On a side note, did anyone else take like a month to figure out that there was a face in the letters on the cover? I felt so dumb!)
Extraordinary by Nancy Werlin
Released: September 2010
Take a look at Extraordinary’s cover. Is it not the most gorgeous thing!? Similarly, Nancy Werlin’s writing is absolutely stunning. However, a few bits of the story made Extraordinary a less-than-extraordinary experience for me.
After reading Impossible, I was eager to get my hands on Extraordinary. I was not disappointed in terms of the story. The idea of faeries coming into a girl’s life to befriend her and undermine her was very intriguing. However, I found that despite this interesting concept, it was difficult to really get into the book until the last hundred pages (but let me tell you, those last 100 pages were awesome). The whole befriending-destroying bit was stretched out too long for me. I was tired of reading about Phoebe’s struggles and was anxious for her to finally discover Mallory’s true identity.
I didn’t really enjoy Phoebe as a main character. Her vapidity and spoiled attitude was off-putting, and I found it difficult to sympathize with her because of it. Like, wow, you might not be extraordinary, Phoebe, but your parents have enough money to guarantee that you’ll never really be at risk of failing at life. I suppose the story really is more about self-confidence, but usually people born into riches have an abundance of that, not a lack like Phoebe.
Let’s talk about some things I did like about Extraordinary. Mallory was an excellent character. I loved her complexity and her loyalty to both her queen and to those she loves in the mortal realm. Ryland, despite being a total doucher, was great, too, at playing his role. Basically, the faeries were the highlight of Extraordinary, in my opinion. As soon as we switched settings from the real world to the faerie realm, I began to fall in love with Extraordinary. I liked the history of the faeries, and how they made a bargain with Phoebe’s ancestor. I loved Nancy Werlin’s descriptions of the different types of fey, too. Very creative.
And, of course, I can’t forget to mention Nancy Werlin’s fantastic writing, which is highly descriptive and wonderful to read.
At the moment I am thinking about what to read next, do you have any ideas, guys? If yes, let me know in the comments below where you’re welcome to leave your opinion as well. See you soon!
